This academic year Singapore School Pantai Indah Kapuk proudly presents its highly anticipated musical - Bawang Merah Bawang Putih, Bawang Bombay. This musical is our modern take on the traditional Nusantara folklore, Bawang Merah, Bawang Putih, which follows the half-sisters in their journey to navigate the trial and tribulation life throws at them. Audience members will witness the characters explore feelings of resentment, revenge, and love. It highlights the importance of being respectful, forgiving, compassionate, determined, and to persevere in any situation you are in.

What makes this musical so special is the entire SIS community coming together to organize an event that will give people the opportunity to help so many young children in need. Parents, teachers, budding toddlers in preschool, and young adults in junior college will be acting, dancing, playing in the orchestra, belting out tunes in the choir, and working behind the scenes, operating sound and lighting equipments. The community hopes to inspire audience members to develop an appreciation for traditional Indonesian folklore and raise awareness for our cause. All net proceeds from the musical will go to underprivileged children in remote areas of Indonesia through Yayasan SISwa Peduli Bangsa.
